Introductory 2-Hour Bird Whistle Workshop — Create Your Own Ceramic Instrument
Open to all levels, this workshop guides you through shaping, forming, and refining your own clay bird whistle — a small sculptural instrument inspired by nature. Over 2.5 hours, you’ll learn the foundations of hollowing, attaching, and tuning the whistle so it sings clearly. This session serves as an inviting introduction to ceramic instrument-making, offering a creative, grounded, and hands-on experience.

Classroom clay, materials, and tools are provided, and you’re welcome to bring your own favorite tools as well. Firing is included. Your finished bird whistle will be carefully dried, fired in the kiln, and ready for pickup at a later date.

This gathering takes place at Arts of Origin Studio, located in Studio 309 at the Bok Building in Philadelphia.

A welcoming space for beginners and experienced makers alike to explore the art of clay instruments in a supportive studio environment.

Payment is nonrefundable, but can be transferred to a future workshop.
