In-Person Studio Immersions
Discover the Art of Clay Instrument Making
Join us for an in-person workshop where you'll learn to handcraft your own ceramic instrument using ancestral techniques rooted in Mesoamerican traditions. Guided by artist and musician Vianney López, this immersive experience blends earth, sound, and creativity—no prior clay or music experience needed. Held in her personal studio sanctuary in Philadelphia, this intimate gathering weaves ancestral knowledge and expansion of creativity to further explore our visions. The journey culminates in the creation of a one-of-a-kind instrument and a deepened connection to the sacred artistry of sound.
Workshop Offerings
𖠷 Ocarinas & Whistles
In this workshop, you'll create one ocarina for deep, powerful notes and one bird-shaped ocarina that carries lightness and song. Through sculptural details inspired by nature, symbols, or personal vision, both instruments become unique expressions of your creative prayer.
𖠷 Open Sculptured Instruments
Explore a wide range of anatomical forms inspired by nature, mythology, symbolism, the human figure, abstract design, or your own imagination. Through guided techniques, you'll learn how to transform sculptural forms into expressive instruments where shape and sound become one.

Join us for an in-person experience where you'll handcraft your own ceramic instrument using ancestral techniques rooted in Mesoamerican traditions. Guided by artist and musician Vianney López, this immersive four-day journey weaves together earth, sound, and creative exploration — no prior clay or music experience required.
Held inside Vianney's art studio in Philadelphia, this is more than a workshop. It's a return — to ancient knowledge, to elemental craftsmanship, to the part of you that creates with intention. Over four days, you will shape, form, and refine a one-of-a-kind ceramic instrument that is entirely your own.
This experience is kept intentionally small so every participant receives personal guidance and space to go deep.
